Bio 

I am a Spanish <> English translator and editor working across genres and disciplines with a focus on the arts, humanities, and social sciences. In addition to working with individual writers and for The New York Times, clients have included the McMullen Museum of Art at Boston College, Harvard University (HBS, Hiphop Archive, FAS), the quarterly magazine OnCuba Travel, the Soriano Foundation, CubaSeen photo zine, the Scalabrini International Migration Network, Fundación Avina, and the Cuba Capacity Building Project at Columbia University. From its inception in early 2020 until March 2021, I was lead editor of the Writers Program at Startup Cuba tv. My creative translations (poetry and short fiction) have been featured in Los Angeles Review, Poetry International Rotterdam, New England Review, spoKe, The Lifted Brow, Talking Writing: literature + journalism, Presence: A Journal of Catholic Poetry, Northwest Review, and in the Instituto Cervantes’ Rincón de Traductores Vol. I & Vol. II.

I have worked at Harvard University for nearly two decades, currently at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs and previously at the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies. From 2018 to 2021, I coordinated the Historical Memory Project of the Consortium for Advanced Studies Abroad (CASA) led by Brown University. I have lived in Chile and Brazil, and have close ties to Cuba and Mexico. I am knowledgable about subregional and national political and cultural issues and linguistic variations.
